Mr David Cozens is a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon with recognition as such by all of the major medical insurers. Mr Cozens is a BUPA Consultant Partner.
Mr Cozens trained at the London Foot Hospital and he qualified with a distinction in surgery. He gained Surgical Fellowship of the Podiatry association (FPodA) and he is a Fellow of The College of Podiatric Surgeons, The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists (FCPodS).
Mr Cozens was successful in national selection for a full time substantive NHS post as a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon in1999; he has had extensive surgical experience in both the NHS and the private sector.
Mr Cozens has written papers and presented to learned societies over the years, the most recent being the Primary Care 2010 on The Biomechanical Management of Chronic Foot Pathology at Birmingham NEC. He is a keen contributor to the media on foot surgery and foot related matters. He is available to make power point presentations and talks to interested parties.
Mr Cozens’s research interests also include the clinical biomechanics and the surgical correction of adult acquired flat foot deformity. His other areas of special interest are in the treatment of chronic heel pain and the surgical correction of forefoot deformities.
In addition to gaining his fulltime substantive NHS consultants post, he has had 10 years specialist experience in Diabetic, Paediatric and Rheumatology clinics in the NHS and had over 20 years experience in Sports Medicine and Biomechanics in a very busy private practice in the centre of Reading.
Recently he has joined the Advanced Footcare Group and often co-consults and operates at the MSU at the Medwyn Centre in Dorking and the Cobham Day Hospital, with Mr Grahame Mann (view website)
